Signatures submitted for the extraordinary general assembly of CAKF!

After a new leadership was elected at an extraordinary general assembly less than a year ago, more than a third of the association’s member clubs last week expressed their dissatisfaction with the way the association was run and submitted a legitimate request for an extraordinary assembly, which, as we have learned, the leadership of the national association must convene within the legal framework of 30 days.

The initiative is led by Andrej Veronek, a candidate for the association’s president. He is a former athlete who started his career in 1997 in the Castrol Clio Cup and achieved a dozen podiums in circuit and rally races. He is a decorated Croatian veteran, volunteer, and was a member of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia until 2001. By the way, Veronek is married to the daughter of the legendary Tihomir Filipović, so that further strengthens his octane pedigree.

As far as we know, the initiative was signed by some of the most successful and reputable Croatian clubs, such as Dubrovnik Racing, Cobra Virovitica, ASK Kastavac, AK Mihovil, AK Učka Sport, Split Auto Club, and about 30 others, which certainly gives the initiative serious legitimacy. In the following days, the presentation of the entire team is expected, and we have unofficially learned that the name of Slaven Dedić is mentioned among the sports officials as a candidate for the general secretary of the initiative – one of the most experienced HAKS officials, who has been the director of the FIA Rallycross World Championship for years. Along with Dedić, several prominent and experienced individuals are also mentioned, such as Miroslav Krpan, Arsen Ulčar, Marino Ferlan, Dean Grbac, Marijo Moslavac, Damir Katunarić, Vlatko Mikulandra, Igor Lisica and three-time European champion Nike Pulić and others who are certainly among the most experienced officials, organizers and athletes that the association has, which gives the initiative a very high level of seriousness.
